Keep your car clean. Remove bird droppings and dead bugs A.S.A.P. The sun will cook them into the paint making it almost impossible to remove them.
Keep your car waxed or use a paint sealant. Clearcoat still needs protecting and can burn away if not cared for.
Floor Mats! Buy em', use em'. Even the cheap ones will help.
Do not let anyone sit on your car. Clearcoat paint scratches easily and magnify's any scratch.
Keep any juices with colored dye (ex. Koolaid) out of the car. If it gets spilled it will dye the carpets and seats whatever color it is PERMENTLY!
